Vital Transportation

“When I am not able to drive I have no family or friends to ask and to make bad matters worse, I cannot walk very far. So you’re giving me transportation makes it possible to stay in my home and take care of myself. For this I thank you and bless you.”

Vital Transportation is a program available to individuals 60 or older, with low incomes, who have an emergency need for transportation to a doctor, to the pharmacy, grocery store or other critical appointments. We help those who have no other source for transportation or means to pay for transportation.

To enroll in this service, call the LOA office nearest you.  Our staff will complete a brief assessment to ensure you qualify for the service.  Once qualification has been established, we ask that you provide us with at least two days notice if you need a ride.

To find out more about these services call LOA in the Roanoke Valley at (540) 345-0451 or Alleghany Highlands (540) 962-0465.
